Services and Pricing
Fixed prices, no Geek Squad upsells, no lock-in. Open-source tools set up for your life, done in person or over video.
Tier 1: Existing Stuff ($300-$500)
Stop the tracking today without buying a thing.
We work with the phone, computer, and internet you already have.
- Browser hardening: Firefox with uBlock Origin, blocking ads, trackers, and fingerprinting.
- Encrypted DNS: Your ISP stops reading your lookups.
- Messaging: Move your family from SMS onto Signal.
- Email: Start the move to Proton or Tuta. Gmail forwards in, so you check one inbox.
- Password vault: Bitwarden. You create the master password. I never see it.
Tier 2: Hardware and Smart Home ($500+, hardware extra)
Reclaim your home network from Amazon, Google, and your ISP.
We replace things gradually. You buy the hardware, or I order it at cost.
- Router: A GL.iNet router replaces your ISP’s, with a real firewall and encrypted DNS for every device.
- Home Assistant: A plug-in Home Assistant Green replaces Alexa and Google Assistant. Lights, locks, and thermostats work locally, even when the internet is down.
I do not turn on network-wide ad blocking. It breaks too many sites. Blocking in the browser is safer and you can pause it with one click.
Tier 3: Off-Grid (custom quote)
For neighborhoods, small businesses, or the resilience-minded.
- LoRa mesh design with Reticulum and RNodes.
- Text your family or neighbors with Sideband over LXMF, with no cell service.
- Solar-powered repeater planning.
Add-on: Local cameras ($250+)
Your cameras record to a box in your home (Reolink or Ubiquiti), not a company’s cloud. The box is blocked from the internet and viewed on your local network. I don’t run cable through walls or attics, and I am not a licensed security integrator. This is for privacy and convenience, not life-safety monitoring.
How it ends
- You create your own passwords; I’m not given them.
- You write three things in a notebook: your Proton login, your Bitwarden master password, and your recovery phrase.
- You get a one-page map of your network.
- Configuration mistakes are fixed free for 14 days. After that it’s your network. I don’t do ongoing IT support or troubleshoot your ISP.
- Optional Annual Tune-Up ($150): a one-hour video session to update firmware and extensions, started by you.
